The Traunsee Bergmarathon
A lap around Lake Traunsee – but not just any lap.
The Traunsee Mountain Marathon covers around 63 kilometres and 4,500 metres of elevation gain around Austria's second largest Alpine lake and deepest lake. There are only a few moments on the route where you lose sight of the lake and the surrounding panorama.
The multitude of mountains and trails in the region offer a true paradise for hikers, trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts. This is probably one of the reasons why the Traunsee Mountain Marathon is so popular and why the starting places have been highly sought-after in recent years.
To experience the mountain marathon, you don't have to tackle the entire 63 kilometres; you can also choose one of the two half-distances.
